The air was humid, the cumbersome dampness within it clinging to all life. The clouds that lined the dark gray horizon had thinned from a former storm, having drenched all the land in the heaven’s tears. Droplets caressed the gentle, swaying leaves of the fauna, only to reach their demise in the form of falling downward onto a soaked ground, only to be crushed by a pure black shinobi sandal. Branches bowed before him as his lithe body danced through the labyrinth of fallen bark and tree. The man emitted a grunt, flicking his head, sending drops of rain from his ashen locks, tearing it from its clinging grasp. He had certainly not traveled to this place to face the nuisance of this muddled air, for even breathing was made a hassle when your lungs pulled at the air. This place was so very different for him, having grown in a dry village, but he liked the tranquility of this place. It had a certain aura about it that gave one the feeling of true aloneness, just you and the forest. He felt like a feeble insect, straying into a light that might hold danger for him, but his mind was so jumbled that it didn’t matter.
He stopped. Lifting his head just slightly, so his bangs were forced down by gravity, sticking to his forehead. A single snap extruded from somewhere deep within the forest, followed by the cackling of many birds as their silhouettes graced the sky, hovering above him before they flew off aimlessly, forgetting about the breaking branch of just seconds ago. His chest sunk as he released a low, solemn sigh of relief. He closed his eyes of nothingness, letting his face linger back down, so his chin was barely touching his neck. How pathetic he was, standing here in this forest. Oh, how he sometimes wished for a life of a bird, where he could literally fly away from his troubles. Being the best of his clan, leaving with the fet of solily protecting one person, Hinata. He was to go assist her right now, following her into the town to handle somethings. As he heads to Hinata, he says. "Where do you plan on going today, Hinata."

Hinata's pale, milky eyes had seen Neji when he left his house and now he was finally right infront of her. She smiled a bit and then looked up at the sky as a drop of water fell upon her nose. She closed her eyes and then reopened them a few moments after, looking back over to Neji. "I was hoping to go to the pond today, but the weather doesn't seem to agree with me." She chuckled softly and looked at her cousin. "How've you been big brother?" she asked him. She knew he wasn't really her big brother of course, but she just called him that. She rarely called him Neji.
He was now her guardian and he always took care of her, acting very much like her father. She loved her cousin grately, just like she loved the rest of her family. She was glad that the Branch family and Main family now got along, it was a change for the better but she just wished they could all be one family, not just two seperate branches. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, feeling more droplets come in contact with her silky, pale skin. It wasn't the best day to be outside, so she figured they may as well go back home.

As Neji pulled his hair back so the raindrops won't get it as wet, he heard Hinata as how he has been. His days have been much more peaceful since the dawn of the Chuunin exams, he learned to live, and love life much better. But recently, he heard rumors that his father was back alive. He switched his eyes, from the raindrops, and shifted them to the eyes of Hinata. "I've been fine Hinata. I've heard that Naruto will soon be coming back."
Neji knew that the news he just presented her with, will put a smile among the face of Hinata. As he watched the change in expression in her face he grinned, aligning his eyes in a straight angle, giving him complete requisition of what's happening on each direction in front of him. The rain fall began to let up, from a drizzle, to a little shower. It seemed the cloud was beginning to come out, to form the god of the skies-the sun. Neji looked to Hinata curious if she still wanted to go.

Hinata heard what Neji said and her eyes widened a bit. "Naruto-kun..?" she asked with a blink and then a pink pigment touched her pale cheeks. She looked down at the ground and she bit her lip. She looked at Neji and saw him grinning at her and she let out a nervous chuckle, scratching the band of her neck. "Th-that's good to know!" she said, trying to cover up her silence from earlier. She was really excited that Naruto was back and she had been debating on whether to tell him her true feelings for a while now, but she still wasn't comletely sure.
As the rain got heavier, she looked at Neji and asked, "Would you like to come over and have some tea?" Tea was a common drink in the Hyuga clan, both branch and main. They would usually sit around like old people and drink tea, even Hanabi who was only ten did so as well. Her clothes were starting to get damp so before Neji could reply, she took his rough hand and pulled him towards the main district. His hands were so unusually rough that it seemed unusual for her silky hands. Was it the fact that the branch family had more work to do for the main branch or did Neji just train to much? Either way, it felt different.

Neji could tell the spilt happiness in Hinata's voice. It was more apparent then she tried to let on, because her cheeks suddenly where a cherry red. Which his Byakugan he studied her emotions then he could tell exactly how she felt. Neji then let down his grin to say. "I know how you feel about Naruto, you should tell him." The rain got a bit heavier, and Hinata asked Naji for tea. But before he could give her, his answer, she pulled the hands of the prodigy, and dragged her into the main house for a sip of tea. He could sense the feelings through her hands, she was happy now. As Neji was dragged into the main house, several of the elder Hyûga, from that house, looked at him with and unexpected smile. They seemed to be happy to see that Neji had, over came his fatalist ways.

Hinata blushed at what Neji said as they entered the kitchen and she shook her head, turning on the fire under the tea kettle. "Did you use your Byakugan to see that or is it just obvious?" she said with a small smirk. She knew that she should tell Naruto about her feelings and she really wanted to, but the problem was that she just didn't have the nerves to.
She sighed and scratched the back of her head. "Do you think it would be a good idea to, Neji nii-san?" she asked him as she bit er lip thoughtfully. She knew very well that Naruto liked Sakura and she just couldn't bare to be denied. It would just hurt her too much. Why was this so difficult? She'd like Naruto since their academy years and she was already a chuunin. It was so embarassing and people would think Naruto would realize by now that she liked him, but he seemed too blind to notice. Sigh.

Neji watched as Hinata blushed even harder, it brunt a slight smirk to his face. But it was put down, after the qquestion was asked to him by Hinata. He nodded his head to what she said, it was obvious. He knew for quite a while she like Naruto, but back then he couldn't tell why. But after battling and loosing to Naruto, he could understand slightly how she got her feelings.
Neji shifted his eyes to the tea kettle, then back to Hinata. " Yes, you should confess your feelings." He knew she would have a slight problem confessing her feelings to him. But she had grown quite allot since then, so he thought she might be able to tell him.
